Mel B Has A Gag Order, Not Allowed To Discuss Eddie Murphy In New Book
If you’re looking for any tea on what went down between Melanie “Mel B” Brown and Eddie Murphy, you’ll have to wait. According to reports, a gag order has been placed on Mel B, preventing her from speaking about her ex in her new autobiography “Brutally Honest”.
Back in 2007, Mel B and Eddie Murphy called it quits and the actor contested whether he was the biological father of Mel B’s daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown. They took a DNA test which concluded that Murphy was the father of Angel Iris. After a messy legal battle, it was ordered in 2009 that Murphy must pay Mel B $50,000 a month in child support until Angel Iris is 18 years old. At the time, they both also signed non-disclosure agreements, preventing them from discussing the settlement in public. That non-disclosure will also prevent Mel B from discussing her relationship with Eddie. According to a source:
Mel has to be very careful about her chapter on Eddie because they have a legal deal in place. That came in the aftermath of him denying being the dad of Angel and then working out a financial deal through lawyers.
If you’re looking for drama, you may be able to get your fix from the chapters dedicated to her marriage to Stephen Belafonte. Reportedly, she can still discuss him.
