Donald Trump Says Sharpton Is A ‘Con Man’ & ‘Hates Whites’

Al Sharpton and Donald Trump are kicking off a new week feuding with each other on social media.

It started after Sharpton posted a photo of himself heading to Baltimore after Trump blasted one of the city’s representatives, Elijah Cummings.

In response to Trump’s tweets, Sharpton announced a press conference he was holding with Maryland Michael Steele, who was the Lieutenant Governor for Maryland from 2003 to 2007. The purpose of the event is to discuss Trump’s comments against Cummings, which have been described as racist.

That was all it took for Trump to go off on Sharpton, calling him a “con man” and saying “he hates whites,” among other things.

He wrote,

“I have known Al for 25 years. Went to fights with him & Don King, always got along well. He “loved Trump!” He would ask me for favors often. Al is a con man, a troublemaker, always looking for a score. Just doing his thing. Must have intimidated Comcast/NBC. Hates Whites & Cops!”
He then said,
“Baltimore, under the leadership of Elijah Cummings, has the worst Crime Statistics in the Nation. 25 years of all talk, no action! So tired of listening to the same old Bull…Next, Reverend Al will show up to complain & protest. Nothing will get done for the people in need. Sad!”
He also recalled a time Sharpton apologized for talking badly about him during Trump’s presidential campaign. Trump said Sharpton’s conversation with him was
“Just a conman at work!”
Sharpton responded and brought up his own receipts. He posted a photo from 2006 with Trump speaking with Sharpton, Rev. Jesse Jackson and singer James Brown. Sharpton wrote,
“Trump at NAN Convention 2006 telling James Brown and Jesse Jackson why he respects my work. Different tune now.”
He also referenced Trump’s accusations that he’s a con man and wrote,
“Trump says I’m a troublemaker & con man. I do make trouble for bigots. If he really thought I was a con man he would want me in his cabinet.”
He went on to confront Trump on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
“He would support us and come to us even after I would challenge him about (the) Central Park (Five) and attacking him on the birther (conspiracy). But make this note — on December 1, 2016, three weeks after the election, he called me after seeing me on this show, ‘Morning Joe,’ and asked me to come and meet with him.”
“He was president-elect and he wanted me to come meet with him at Mar-A-Lago. I said, ‘I will only meet with you if I can bring other leaders of national civil rights organizations. (Trump said,) ‘No, Al, I just know you, let’s meet and let’s talk.’ Why would you want, as president-elect of the United States, to meet with a troublemaker and a con man? That’s who he is, and we know who he is. The question is, what are we going to do about it?”
