Cardi B Teases Sit Down With Bernie Sanders
Cardi B is keeping her fans informed! The “Press” rapper has always been an avid follower of politics, and doesn’t shy away from giving her opinions on the state of our country.
Cardi is encouraging her followers to get to know the candidates, their history, and their plans for the future in order to make an impactful vote. Weeks ago, she sat down with Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders to discuss Americans’ concerns in a relatable way.

The spicy reality star turned Grammy award winner is finally letting us in on their conversation. Her Instagram caption read:
“@iamcardib What are your questions! So I know this is long over due but here it is ! A couple of weeks ago I asked my followers if you all had the chance to ask a Democratic candidate a question, what would that question be? The topic that was mentioned the most by all of you was about raising MINIMUM WAGE. I got the chance to ask @berniesanders about this, and these are his answers. Keep sending your questions, we will be addressing more of these soon!”
The first topic Cardi B addressed with the presidential candidate was work wages. She asked:
“What are we gonna do about wages in America? For example, me – as a New Yorker – not now, but when I was not famous – I just felt like, no matter how many jobs I got, I wasn’t able to make ends meet. I wasn’t able to pay my rent, get transportation, and eat.”
He replied:
“That is an excellent and important question, ’cause right now we have tens of millions of people who are earning, what I like to call starvation wages. Can you imagine today somebody earning $9 an hour? How do you pay your rent? How do you pay for food? How do you pay for transportation? You can’t…legislation that I’ve introduced – that was passed in the House recently – would raise that minimum wage to $15 an hour.”
Did Cardi B’s sit-down with Bernie Sanders influence your thoughts on the upcoming election?
