Jennifer Lopez On Her Past With Ex Boyfriend Diddy: We Had This Kind Of Crazy, Tumultuous Relationship That Ended In A Bang
Jennifer Lopez is gearing up for her wedding to retired MLB star Alex Rodriguez.

But she’s reminiscing over one of her most infamous exes, Sean “Diddy” Combs, who she dated in the late 90s.
During an interview Jennifer Lopez was asked about her history with Diddy. She said,
“The Puffy era was just kind of a crazy, heightened time in my life. You know, Puffy and I both grew up in the Bronx. He had been in the music business and had all this success; I was just starting and making my first album when I met him. He became kind of a mentor to me in that moment. We had this kind of crazy, tumultuous relationship that ended in a bang.”
They split shortly after a shooting at a club in Manhattan in 1999. The two were present at the time of the shooting and Diddy was later arrested on weapons violations. While he was found not guilty, that’s said to be the reason they ultimately broke up.
Still, it doesn’t seem like she has any regrets. She added,
“It was definitely a moment but I felt like it was necessary. He was meant to be in my life at that moment to teach me what I needed to know about the music business, about what kind of artist I wanted to be in the music industry.”
While they were together 20 years ago, their relationship has become a topic of conversation this year. Diddy sparked speculation that he wanted that old thing back when he commented on one of Jennifer Lopez’s photos back in April.

Lopez said that Diddy later apologized to Alex Rodriguez.
“We never lived together. We were boyfriend and girlfriend when we were little, I feel like that was such a long time ago. It was a different type of relationship.”
“So you guys know, he wrote Alex after that. He was like, ‘I didn’t mean anything by it, I have nothing but respect for you guys, I’m so happy for you guys’.”
