Vanessa Bryant Releases Mambacita Line For Late Daughter Gigi Bryant, Sells Out Within Hours
Vanessa Bryant is paying homage to her late daughter Gianna Bryant. She launched clothing line Mambacita Saturday (May 1st), which marked what would’ve been Gianna Bryant’s 15th birthday; it sold out within hours, according to reports. Vanessa Bryant, wife of late NBA legend Kobe Bryant, gave a sneak peek of the collection via Instagram Friday (April 30th).
She wrote,
“Coming Soon-5/1. In honor of my Gigi’s 15th birthday [red heart emoji] Happy Birthday, Gigi! 100% of the proceeds go to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation. Unisex and Kids sizes available.”
The line of unisex athletic wear is named after Gianna Bryant’s basketball nickname, in a nod to her father, whom Lakers fans called the “Black Mamba”. The pants feature a graphic of the number 2 with a heart around it, representing Gianna’s basketball number.
Vanessa Bryant, and her eldest daughter Natalia Bryant, sported the tie-dye sweatshirts and sweatpants in black and pink, all embellished with the Mambacita logo on the front. Vanessa Bryant and her two besties, Lala Anthony and Ciara, were also seen on social media sporting the collection.
Celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Khloe Kardashian, Kelly Rowland, and Kate Hudson, adorned the limited-edition collection on social media. While showing their support of the collection, they also posted sweet birthday wishes to Gigi.
All proceeds from the sale of the collection’s pieces will go to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, the Bryant family’s charity, established to further both Kobe Bryant and Gianna’s legacy through charitable endeavors in sports.
