LeBron James – Ex ESPN Host Michelle Beadle Says NBA Star Wanted Network To Fire Her & Have Her Replaced

It sounds like LeBron James might has a major bone to pick with a former NBA Countdown host!

Last month, sports reporter Michelle Beadle dished about a high-profile athlete’s beef with her on her podcast, What Did I Miss? with Michelle Beadle. Specifically, the 46-year-old correspondent–who hosted NBA Countdown from 2016 to 2019 before being bought out by ESPN–revealed that LeBron James, 36, had allegedly tried to get her fired from the network on numerous occasions!

While the specifics surrounding this eyebrow-raising revelation were unclear, Michelle Beadle suggested LeBron James‘ disdain for her came from her criticism of The Decision–a 2010 program that focused on the athlete’s choice to sign with the Miami Heat rather than the Cleveland Cavaliers, his hometown team.

Michelle Beadle provided additional information about the drama this past Monday (Dec. 6th). While on the House of Strauss podcast, the reporter dished on her initial reaction to the matter, saying:

“To find out… I was just like ‘Hey, what a weird person to have any input on your life.'”

She then added that LeBron James may have wanted her off the network because he wanted to help an associate’s chances of hosting NBA Countdown:

“He had a person at the network who he wanted. [LeBron James] wanted her to be the host of [‘NBA Countdown’]. He does not like me, and I honestly have stopped trying to figure out why. For some reason, it goes back years.”

For context, after Michelle Beadle left the network, she was replaced by both Maria Taylor and Rachel Nichols. It’s presumed that Michelle was referring to the latter, who was involved in controversy earlier this year, as she is connected to LeBron James.
