Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Atlanta rapper Lil Keed.
The young musician, who was signed to Young Thug‘s music label Young Slime Life, was confirmed dead by his brother via Instagram over the weekend, May 14th.
Lil Keed, born Raqhid Jevon Render, was a rising artist, boasting 1.3million instagram followers and racking up million of views on his Youtube music videos. There has been no report on cause of death at this time.
Lil Keed‘s brother and fellow rap artist Lil Gotit mourned the loss of his family, taking to instagram writing:
“Can’t believe I seened u die today bro I did all my cries I know what u want me to do and that’s go hard for Mama Daddy Our Brothers Naychur and Whiteboy #ImaHoldthisShitDown”

Keed was reportedly in a longtime on-and -off relationship with girlfriend Quanda Bandz, who is the mother of their daughter Naychur, and has another child on the way. Quanda expressed the grief she feels about losing Keed on her social media writing:
“I love you sooooo much baby… I can’t breathe right sleep right nothing I don’t even wanna talk to nobody. What am I supposed to tell Naychur? What am I gone tell our new baby? Keed I just told you the other day if you left me with these two kids I was gone loose my mind. My Mind is lost baby.”

Days before his tragic death, Keed reportedly showed support to his label’s owner, fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug, after being indicted on RICO charges. Reportedly, he stated:
“[YSL] is not a gang, not a criminal organization, not a mob,” but rather a “family, a label, a way of life.”
We continue to pray for Lil Keed’s family and all affected by his death.
