During a recent interview on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Daniel Kaluuya said he broke down laughing when he learned that film director Jordan Peele was titling his new horror movie “Nope.” While on the NBC talk show, Daniel Kaluuya said:
“For whatever reason, he was developing it and I was like, ‘what’s it called?’ I had never asked him what it was called. He said, “Nope.” I laughed for 30 seconds. Like, that was so funny.”
Kaluuya added:
“‘Cause he said that’s the reaction that Black people will have when they watch it. They’re like ‘nope,’ ‘nope’ and I was like ‘yeah.’”
As previously reported, the Academy Award-winning actor will not be reprising his “Black Panther” role in the anticipated sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” due to scheduling conflicts on Jordan Peele’s upcoming film “Nope,” in which Kaluuya is the lead character.
