Queen Elizabeth II Is Under Medical Supervision, As Doctors Are Concerned About Her Health

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II is “under medical supervision” due to doctors’ recent concern about her health.

According to reports, Buckingham Palace announced today (Sept. 8) that Queen Elizabeth II will be medically supervised at her Scottish residence, Balmoral Castle. Queen Elizabeth II stayed at her family’s estate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, during the summer. On Wednesday (Sept. 7) the 96-year-old was told to rest following the cancellation of a meeting with her Privy Council. The palace said:

“Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.”

The palace added:

“The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”

On Tuesday, a day before her canceled meeting, the queen met The United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Liz Truss, at Balmoral. Liz Truss took to Twitter this morning (Sept 8.) to share her feelings about the queen being under medical supervision regarding her health. Liz Truss said:

“The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.”

Lizz Truss added:

“My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”

During the past year, the queen battled several health conditions including COVID-19. She was also hospitalized overnight for what reports describe as “preliminary investigations.” Back in may her oldest child, Charles, and the heir to her throne replaced his mother when she missed the presentation of Parliament due to mobility issues. For the first time in 60 years this was the first time the queen was absent.
