Ime Udoka – ‘Strong Voices’ Begging Brooklyn Nets To Reconsider Hiring The Controversial Coach
Everyone is NOT here for Ime Udoka coming on as the Brooklyn Nets new head coach!
According to reports, “strong voices” are requesting that Joe Tsai reconsider placing Ime Udoka in the organization’s head coaching position. As previously reported, Ime Udoka was suspended for a year as the Boston Celtics’ head coach for violating the organization’s policies. Ime Udoka was caught cheating on his fiancee Nia Long with a female staff member. The relationship between the coach and the franchise’s employee is believed to have been consensual, however, some reports claim she accused Udoka of making unwanted remarks toward her.

It’s possible that Ime Udoka’s alleged actions may keep him from finding a home with the Brooklyn Nets. Marc Stein, an NBA reporter, took to Twitter on Sunday (Nov. 6) and wrote:
“League sources say there have been some ‘strong voices’ urging Joe Tsai to back off the Nets’ intent to hire suspended Celtics coach Ime Udoka as Steve Nash’s successor given the considerable turmoil Brooklyn has already faced this season.”

It was reported that the Brooklyn team expressed interest in hiring Udoka, shortly after they fired Steve Nash amid a rough start to the season. Until a decision is made, Jacque Vaughn will continue to be the Brooklyn Nets’ head coach.
