According to reports, Jordin Sparks, 33, was singing America’s song during the Big 12 conference championship this past Saturday (March 11th). The “One Step At A Time” songstress began the melody, effortlessly belting out the words in her usual angelic voice.
Upon getting to the the mid song high-notes, however, Jordin Sparks seems to have struggled a bit. Social media users wasted no time criticizing the celeb, debating if she choked the notes doing “too much”, or simply forgot the words. One user wrote:
“Just found out why Jordin Sparks is trending…some folks just try to put too much sauce on the national anthem and it backfires”
With another adding:
“Jordin sparks sung the national anthem at the big 12 title game today and forgot the words. Was sounding crazy lol”
For every one critical comment, however, it seems 5 Sparks supporters were right there to set the record straight about the singer’s vocal history. Along with plenty of beautifully executed live performances that could be easily google’d, the season 6 “American Idol” winner has dropped timeless hits, such as her chart topping record with Chris Brown “No Air” and song “Battlefield” that clearly displays her musical talent.
Sparks supporters simultaneously praised her performance, doubling down on the stance that when it comes to vocals, their girl has long proven to be that girl.
