Ciara’s ‘Naked’ Oscars After-Party Dress Sparks Online Debate About Appropriate Attire For A Married Woman: ‘She Out Here Embarrassing Russell’
The internet had a lot to say about Ciara’s recent red-carpet look.
Following the Oscars ceremony held this past Sunday (March 12th), the “One, Two Step” singer donned a sheer outfit at the Vanity Fair after-party that left many discussing the appropriateness of her attire.

Before heading inside to party, Ciara posed for pictures in her now-viral see-through number alongside her NFL hubby Russell Wilson. The dress, designed by fashion label Dundas, was reportedly fresh off of its Paris Fashion Week debut. The 37-year-old wore the risqué design with nothing but gloves, a thong, and nipple covers, leaving much – but not all – of her body exposed.
As the internet caught wind of Cici’s fit, social media users were quick to share their opinions. Many seemed disappointed the celeb chose such a revealing design, citing the singer’s marriage, three young children, and Christian faith as reasons the outfit shouldn’t have been worn. Some users directly addressed her partner Russell Wilson, 34, questioning his opinion about the fit.
Others came to the Texas native’s defense. One user compared the outfit to Rihanna’s 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards ensemble where she wore a very similar see-through number. The user went on to question why it seems Ciara is receiving harsher backlash.
Many others pointed out the fact that Wilson attended the party with his better half and posed for several pics next to her. Another commenter speculated that the slander is only due to her past relationship with rapper Future. If you recall, the musicians had a very public relationship back in 2012 and welcomed a son together before calling it quits in 2014. Apparently, some people have still not moved on, although Ciara clearly has.
All in all, it seems Ciara isn’t too bothered by online opinions, as another user noted. Post breaking the internet, the songstress went on to promote her skincare line and forthcoming single “Da Girls,” which is set to drop on the 24th of this month.
