Keke Palmer Awarded Sole Custody Of Her Son & Granted A Temporary Restraining Order After Accusing Ex Boyfriend Darius Jackson Of Ongoing Abuse + Their Family Members Speak Out

Film and TV star Keke Palmer has taken legal action against her child’s father Darius Jackson.

According to a report from Radar Online, the actress was granted a temporary restraining order and sole custody of their son “until further notice”, after accusing her ex of physical abuse.

Reportedly Keke Palmer, real name Lauren Keyana Palmer, 30, claimed in the motion that Darius Jackson, 29, has been violent with her on more than one occasion. The “Nope” star stated that she broke things off with him last month following around 2 years of an on-and -off relationship, triggering an unannounced visit on November 7th. At the time, Jackson allegedly barged into her home and demanded to see their 8-month-old son Leo before assaulting her.

According to Palmer, Jackson wanted to take the child to a football game which she adamantly opposed. The entertainer says Jackson became infuriated and got rough with her, reportedly writing in the motion:

“At that point, he lunged at me, grabbing at my neck and face, knocked me backwards over the couch, stole my phone out of my hands, and then ran out of the house,”

As proof of the incident, Palmer also submitted several still images which seemingly depict her standing under Jackson during a fight and toppling over a couch. Palmer additionally stated that the police were called in the midst of the incident and warned Jackson not to return to the home. Authorities also urged Palmer to file the restraining order according to the motion.

There was also an altercation that Palmer described showcasing the alleged abuse which she says happened back in February of last year. The entertainer says that she sent Jackson a bikini photo while at a party, igniting his anger and insecurity. Detailing what happened upon returning home, the new mom wrote:

“In the bedroom, he slammed me on the floor and slapped my head from side to side. The next morning, he was standing at the bottom of the stairs near the front door, screaming at me as I was coming down the stairs. When I was almost at the bottom of the stairs, he grabbed me around the neck and body slammed me back onto the stairs,”

Adding:

“The abuse during our relationship was not just physical, but emotional and manipulative…So much of Darius’ abuse towards me throughout our relationship was based on his insecurity and jealousy, that I became extremely concerned when Darius started to express jealousy about the time I was spending with our son.”

Palmer reportedly added that she fears for both her and her sons safety due to Jackson’s “uncontrolled, violent outbursts”, and went on to describe him being physically rough with Leo after becoming irritated with his crying. It seems the images along with Palmer’s plea for safety was enough to win over a court judge. For the time being, Jackson is reportedly not to go within 100 yards of Palmer and is not allowed to see his son. it doesn’t seem that Jackson has publicly commented about the situation, but he did share a picture and message to his son on his X account (formerly Twitter), writing:

“I love you, son. See you soon.”

News of Palmer’s bombshell motion seems to have come as a surprise to some, but not others. Many social media users claimed to have seen the TV professional’s red flags when he seemingly attempted to mom shame the singer for wearing what he deemed a revealing dress to an Usher concert earlier this year. The issue caused widespread backlash for Jackson, but it seemed the two tried to make things work. As we previously reported, however, Jackson hinted that things might have not been so good between them recently with some cryptic posts he shared online.

Jackson’s brother, “Insecure” star Sarunas Jackson also took to the platform to react to the recent news about his younger sibling. In a now deleted post, the actor wrote:

“The most disgusting, vile, manipulative, person I have ever encountered in my entire life.. Abuses almost everyone. Y’all will see.. Just send positive energy to the babies.. Any child in the middle of something like this does not deserve it AT ALL. Wow. So d*mn sad”

In response, Palmer’s mother, Sharon Palmer. posted a video online, alleging that she attempted to warn Sarunas about his brother’s abusive nature. The celebrity’s mom says that Sarunas more or less shrugged the whole thing off, telling her that he acted similarly when he was younger.

Sarunas then denied that the conversation between he and Palmer’s mother ever happened, subsequently writing in a comments section:

“Quote me: I NEVER ONCE SAID THAT to Sharon. NOT ONCE IN MY LIFE. I have NEVER been abusive to any of the women I ever been involved with. I’m not going to keep on with this circus. But Sharon, the world is about to hear YOUR VOICE. Very soon. And the threats you made to my family. Be well everyone.. I know it’s easy to get caught up in this but make no mistake that all of this is VERY sad.”

Palmer for her part does not seem to have addressed the situation publicly at this time.
