Plies Seemingly Responds To Charlamagne Tha God’s Disapproval Of Him Slamming Black Men Who Are Overly Critical Of Kamala Harris

Plies isn’t holding back.

Earlier today (Aug. 26), the rapper tweeted,

“One Thing I Will NEVER Do Is ‘Lie’ On Someone Else. Just To Try & Make My Point!!!”

While it’s unclear who exactly Plies was referring to, the timing of the tweet raised eyebrows, as it came shortly after The Breakfast Club hosts criticized his comments about Black men questioning Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee.

Plies

Plies initially posted a message on social media addressing Black men who question Kamala Harris but don’t apply the same scrutiny to former President Donald Trump.

He said,

“Black men who look like me are quick to ask, ‘If Kamala wants my vote, she needs to explain herself to me—what she’s gonna do for Black people.’ Stop asking a motherf****** Black woman to explain herself to you if y’all ain’t willing to ask the motherf****** white man to motherf****** explain himself.”

Charlamagne tha God reacted strongly to Plies’ comments on the August 26 show, stating:

“Yes, question her. Yes, ask her to explain herself. I don’t know why we do this with every Democratic candidate… Black people, cut it out. Black people… don’t settle. Make these presidential candidates explain themselves… Plies, you’re offending the Vice President. She wouldn’t want that.”

Co-host DJ Envy chimed in, reading a listener’s response that described Plies’ comments as “silly” and emphasized the importance of questioning candidates.

Social media, however, appears to be siding with Plies, with many users criticizing The Breakfast Club for allegedly twisting his words and missing the core of his message.

One Instagram user commented,

“Now I KNOW the folks at @breakfastclubam are not that slow. Y’all know damn well what @plies was saying. Stop being goofy and trying to gaslight us for ratings. We not falling for it.”

Another added,

“Clearly @breakfastclubam knew what @plies meant. Yet you over here trying to make it sound like he didn’t say the right thing. Smh about to unfollow @breakfastclubam because y’all knew the context. He literally said ‘stop over questioning a black woman and not caring to question a white man. It was a very simple statement.’”

As the discourse continues, it’s evident that Plies’ words have struck a chord, with many supporting his stance on holding all political figures equally accountable.
