White House Implies Donald Trump Played A Role In Cleveland Browns Drafting Shedeur Sanders
The White House is hinting that Donald Trump deserves credit for the Cleveland Browns drafting Shedeur Sanders.
During a press briefing Monday (Apr. 28), Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt if Trump deserves credit for the Browns drafting Shedeur in the fifth round after he fell lower in the draft than expected.
Leavitt replied,
“All I will say is the president put out a statement, and a few rounds later, he was drafted. So I think the facts speak for themselves on that one.”

The statement she referenced came Friday (Apr. 25) on Trump’s Truth Social, where he blasted NFL teams for passing on Shedeur:
“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID? Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be ‘picked’ IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!”
Shedeur went undrafted through Friday night’s rounds before the Browns finally picked him up Saturday (Apr. 26).
