Deion Sanders Posts Cryptic Message About Lies After Son Shedeur’s Shocking NFL Draft Slide: ‘Truth Wins In The End’
Coach Prime had some things to get off his chest amid the controversy surrounding his son Shedeur’s NFL draft experience.
In the wake of Shedeur’s unexpected fall to the fifth round of this year’s draft, Deion Sanders took to X earlier today (April 29) with a cryptic message, writing:
“A lie don’t care who tells it or repeats it. Its goal is to be heard. The truth could be standing right in front of u consistently for years but u don’t see it because a lie is in your mind.”
He continued:
“The Truth may not be as popular as a lie but the Truth wins in the end.”
While the exact nature of his post is unclear, it comes just two days after Shedeur, who was initially projected to be a Top 5 pick, was passed over repeatedly — eventually being selected No. 144 overall by the Cleveland Browns.
The surprising draft slip has sparked major debate across the sports world. Some, like Stephen A. Smith, have hinted at potential collusion by NFL owners who may have taken issue with Shedeur’s confidence and outspoken attitude during the pre-draft process.

Others are pointing fingers at Deion himself, accusing the Colorado coach of trying to control which teams could draft his son, which may have backfired.
Despite the noise, Deion is keeping it classy, thanking God for his son’s pick and letting his cryptic post do the rest of the talking. Meanwhile, Shedeur landed in Ohio earlier today (Apr. 29) and shared footage of himself doing a walk-through at the Browns’ stadium via Instagram Story.
What do you think Deion’s post really meant, was it a message to the league, the media, or someone else entirely?
