Halle Berry & “B*A*P*S” Director Robert Townsend Asks Fans If They Want A Reboot
“B*A*P*S” was a film originally released in 1997, starred Halle Berry and Natalie Desselle, and earned $7.3 million in the box office. While it received no acclaim by the Academy or the Golden Globes, it became an immediate classic among the black community, but a sequel never saw the light of the day – until now.
The director of the film, Robert Townsend teased the idea of a possible reboot which told the story of two women from the south who had dreams of making it big in Hollywood (Berry & Desselle). Townsend tweeted Tuesday (Jan. 8),
I directed Baps starring @HalleBerry and written by @Troybyer With all the reboots going on,here’s the question of the day. Would you go see a sequel to Baps?

Berry also inquired with her social media followers about a possible sequel. The Oscar winning actress wrote,
What do you guys think?!
