Brandy Shuts Down Any Rumored Beef W/ Monica
Brandy put aside her personal anguish against fellow R&B singer Monica Brown to honor and relish in the moment they made a Grammy Award winning hit. The “Never Say Never” songstress shared a screen grab from the 1998 single “The Boy Is Mine,” which featured Monica, to Instagram Friday morning.
Brandy attached an encouraging caption, in reflection of Black History Month.

The post is shared amid Brandy and Monica’s past disagreements via social media. While Monica has stated the alleged beef between the pair is nonexistent, Brandy does not the feel the same. The last time the two had a semi-public sparring was in 2018. Brandy called out Monica for not owning their single “The Boy Is Mine” during her Essence Festival performance.
The song is mine. I gotta claim what’s mine. If I don’t got the boy, I’ve got the song. You know what I’m saying?

Monica responded to Brandy with a message with intentions to uplift.
The only time they called a little Black girl from the country to the big stage, an amazing woman, Ms. Brandy Norwood. See, the thing is, if we lift each other up, we can do a whole lot.
