As the coronavirus pandemic continues, celebrities are offering what help they can. To keep fans entertained, some musicians are sharing their talents and providing live streams of performances. Others are donating not only their time but their vast resources, to offer aid to the less fortunate in their communities.
Music business legends Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are lending a helping hand to Compton residents most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The duo made a donation that will fund vital needs in the city, including more than 145,000 free meals, medical testing, and supplies, according to reports

Dr. DreDr. Dre, real name Andre Young, was famously born and raised in Compton. Along with Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre has been giving to charitable causes in the city for years. In 2013, the pair donated $70 million to the University of Southern California to create the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation. Dr. Dre donated all the proceeds from his 2015 album to Compton High School for the construction of a performing arts center. Two years later, he gave another $10 million for the center that opens later this year.

Meanwhile, even though Dr. Dre, who was the top-earning musician of the last decade, seemed unsure about a Verzuz battle with Diddy, the Bad Boy CEO is reportedly still hopeful a face-off will happen. Following the epic Verzuz battle between legends, Teddy Riley and Babyface, Diddy told Fat Joe on his Instagram Live broadcast, The Joprah Show,
“We definitely talking about it, you heard it here first. Understand we getting money together.”
