Russell Westbrook Reportedly Left $8,000 Tip For Cleaning Staff At NBA Bubble: I Like To Do The Right Thing
Russell Westbrook felt extra generous while leaving the NBA bubble at Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort in Orlando.
The bubble became an isolated home for NBA players after the league resumed from hiatus this summer because of COVID-19.
The Houston Rockets player reportedly left an $8,000 tip for the housekeeping staff at the venue before exiting following the team’s loss in the finals.
Reporter Brad Townsend of Dallas Morning News tweeted the news recently:
“Only @russwest44would be able to truly confirm this, and I doubt he will, but I’m told that he left a $8,000 tip for the Grand Floridian housekeepers when the @HoustonRocketsleft the NBA bubble. Moreover, I’m told, he left the room virtually spotless.”

Russell Wilson later confirmed with another reporter that he left a tip, but didn’t say how much.
Reporter Taylor Brooks tweeted:
“Spoke to Russ Westbrook. Confirmed he left a generous tip & thank you letter to housekeepers in the bubble. He didnt disclose the amount “They took great care of us. Took the time and energy to do their job at a high level. That was the right thing. I like to do the right thing””

The NBA season taking a break isn’t the only way COVID-19 hit home for Russell Westbrook. He tested positive for the virus back in July, just before the NBA picked up again.
He wrote back then:
“I tested positive for covid-19 prior to my teams departure to Orlando. I’m currently feeling well, quarantined, and looking forward to rejoining my teammates when I am cleared. Thank you all for the well wishes and continued support. Please take this virus seriously. Be safe. Mask up! #whynot”
