‘Soho Karen’ Miya Ponsetto Snaps At Gayle King, Returns To NYC To Face Charges
The 22-year-old woman known as “SOHO Karen” seems to have more critical things to worry about than an alleged missing phone. This past December Miya Ponsetto went viral for falsely accusing (and physically attacking) the 14-year-old son of Grammy Award-Winning trumpeter Keyon Harrold of stealing her phone. The incident happened at a Manhattan hotel in NYC. Miya Ponsetto recently sat down with journalist Gayle King to explain her outburst. However, it didn’t take long for the conversation to go south. During the virtual interview, Ponsetto seemed to be unfazed by the severity of her actions. She said,
“Yeah, the footage shows me attacking his son. Attacking him how? Yelling at him? Yes. Okay. I apologize. Can we move on?”
When Gayle King told “SOHO Karen” that she was old enough to know better she snapped at the CBS reporter and responded,
“All right, Gayle. Enough.”
However, Miya Ponsetto won’t be getting off the hook that easily. According to reports, hours following her interview, she was arrested in California for her actions in NYC towards the young boy. On Thursday, January 7th, she was spotted driving near her family’s home in Piru, Calif., when Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to take her into custody. According to local police, Miya Ponsetto refused to stop her vehicle and continued to drive for a few more blocks. Authorities also claim she almost slammed her car door on a deputy and needed to be physically removed from her car during the arrest.
On Saturday, January 9th, Miya Ponsetto was seen back on the east coast being escorted into the NYPD’s First Precinct in Lower Manhattan. She could possibly face charges of attempted robbery, endangering a child’s welfare, fourth-degree attempted grand larceny, and attempted assault.
