Halle Berry Slams Drake For Using Her Image As Cover Art For His New Single Despite The Actress Denying Him Permission: ‘That Was A F**k You To Me’
Actress Halle Berry recently had some words for Drake.
After debuting the Oscar winner as the cover art to his latest single, Berry wasn’t shy in sharing her unimpressed opinion about it.
The artwork in question is a photo of Halle Berry, 57, being doused in slime at the 2012 Nickelodeon awards. In case you’re unfamiliar, the adolescent award show was famous for oozing their celebrity attendees and the crowd, much to everyone’s pleasure. It seems Drake, 36, was also a fan of the moment, seeing as though he unearthed the archived image to debut his latest song release “Slime You Out”, featuring his ex and R&B princess SZA.
The song was released this past Friday (September 15th), and will be on the Canadian rapper’s upcoming project “For All The Dogs”, expected to come out October 6th. Shortly after revealing the cover art, however, Berry took to social media with a cryptic upload. The “Catwoman” star shared a repost that read:
“SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO BE THE BIGGER GUY … EVEN IF YOU’RE A WOMAN!”
As a caption, Berry left nothing but a middle finger emoji. It wasn’t long before fans flocked to the comments section to question if the post was about Drake’s image, which she didn’t hesitate to confirm. After one user asked how she felt about being the face of the “Rich Flex” rapper’s new record, Berry reportedly responded:
“Didn’t get my permission,”

Additionally adding about the situation:
“That’s not cool, I thought better of him.”

Reportedly, the movie star went on to further react to comments from her 8.5 million followers. Many of them shamed Drake for the audacity of using Berry’s image without her permission. Agreeing with one of her fans she reportedly added:
“Hence my post today. When people you admire disappoint you, you have to be the bigger person and move on!”

However, one user defending Drake seemed to strike a nerve with the actress. After suggesting that since the image isn’t technically owned by her she shouldn’t be upset, Berry revealed that Drake actually did ask permission and was denied, however, he apparently opted to use the photo anyway. She wrote:
“Cuz he asked me and i said NO…why ask if you intend to do what you want to do ! That was the f*ck you to me. Not cool,”

It seems the rap star somewhat got the message. Though he hasn’t removed the initial artwork from his instagram page, Drake reportedly dropped the image as the official cover art for the song. It doesn’t seem that either Drake nor SZA have publicly addressed to Berry’s grievance at this time.
