Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches, seems to have had a good Christmas! The author shared pictures on Christmas day of her smiling with her son, Zaire Wade, and daughter, Zaya Wade, standing by her side. She captioned the family photos

“All I wanted for Christmas…thank you Lord Jesus…You always come through for us!”

Zaire Wade showed love and appreciation towards his mother on his Instagram page. He shared his own photo of his mom by his side and captioned the image,

“Christmas w ma ?? @siohvaughnfuncheswade”

It’s unclear the last time Siohvaughn Funches physically saw her children prior to Christmas day. However, she did post a picture of herself and Zaire Wade together back in August of 2019.

Dwyane Wade and Siohvaughn Funches married in 2002 and divorced in 2010. The pair, unfortunately, had a harsh divorce process. In 2011 Dwyane Wade was granted sole custody of their two children following their custody battle. According to reports, the judge who ruled on the custody case stated,

“The court finds that [Siohvaughn Wade] has embarked on an unstoppable and relentless pattern of conduct for over two years to alienate the children from their father, and lacks either the ability or the willingness to facilitate, let alone encourage, a close and continuing relationship between them.”

The drama between the former Highschool sweethearts didn’t end there. In 2012, Siohvaughn Funches was arrested and charged with misdemeanor attempted child abduction after neglecting to bring their two children back to Dwyane Wade within the prescribed visitation hours. In addition to that, in 2013, while they were finalizing the financial particulars of their divorce, Siohvaughn Funches sat outside of Chicago’s Daley Center with a sign that read

“NBA Miami Heat Star, mother of his children on the streets.”

During her protest, Siohvaughn Funches informed the media that she wasn’t happy with how the court proceedings were going and how monetary assets were being distributed.
