Jennifer Hudson Addresses Rumors About Upcoming Syndicated Daytime Talk Show
Jennifer Hudson Says ‘I Would Love To Do That’ As She Speaks On Rumored Upcoming Syndicated Daytime Talk Show
Would you tune in to see Jennifer Hudson host her own talk show?
As previously reported, last November reports surfaced that actress/singer Jennifer Hudson, 40, was in talks to secure her own daytime television talk show. According to initial reports, the talk show is scheduled to premiere this fall and will serve as Warner Bros. TV’s new staple after “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” concludes at the end of its current 19th season.
During a recent interview, Jennifer Hudson dished on her rumored upcoming project and shared that she would love to step into the world of hosting. She said,
“I would love to do that, that would be a whole new interesting world to walk into. I do love talking as you could probably already tell, and I love to Jennifer-ize people. So maybe I will make it into your living room, 2022 is definitely going to let us know for sure!”
She added,
“Here at Jhud Productions, we always got a plan. And we never stop working and, as I always say, you will always see me try and grow so there’s always a plan, I can tell you that much.”
If you want to see Hudson on screen before her speculated syndicated daytime talk show arrives, then you can watch her portray Aretha Franklin in the biographical musical drama film ‘Respect.’ The movie was released on August 13, 2021, and has reportedly grossed a worldwide total of $31.5 million.
During the interview, Hudson also spoke on her latest film project and said,
“[Being chosen for the role is] scary at times, you know. That’s a huge assignment — it’s not every day you can get up and say ‘I’m playing Aretha Franklin.’ So, to be acknowledged and received in this way, [it’s] like I can breathe now, you know? Because it’s an exciting thing [when] you get that opportunity, but when it’s time to actually do it? It is daunting [and] it can be very scary… So again, this is like a breath of fresh air.”
She also shared her plans of going back to Broadway so she can hopefully earn a Tony Award, which is the last award she needs to join the few entertainers who have hit the EGOT ( Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) status.
“I am looking forward to going back to Broadway — in what way, I don’t know, when, especially in these times, I don’t know. But I know I will get there. I don’t know when, I don’t know how, and I will get there.”
