Comedian Aries Spears Reacts To Child Grooming & Sexual Abuse Lawsuit Against Him & Tiffany Haddish: It’s An Extortion Attempt, We Won’t Be Shaken Down! [VIDEO]

Aries Spears has broken his silence following the child molestation allegations made against him.

As previously reported, comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears are being sued for allegedly grooming a 14-year-old girl and her seven-year-old brother, coercing them to record rated R skits. The siblings, who are referred to as Jane Doe and John Doe, allege they are traumatized for life and the young boy said both defendants molested him. The older sister claimed Tiffany Haddish, 42, taught her how to mimic fellatio for the skit. The lawsuit also claimed that her younger brother was molested by Aries Spears, 47, while filming a “Funny or Die” video titled “Through A Pedophiles Eyes.”

During a preview for his podcast “Spears & Steinberg,” Spears admitted there’s a lot he can’t say, specifically in regards to the old skit the actors’ performed given the pending lawsuit. However, the stand-up comedian took the time to thank his listeners and fans for all of their support since the accusations surfaced. He then gets more serious, calling the lawsuit an “extortion case.” Spears declared,

“Listen, this is an extortion case. This is a shakedown. And I didn’t need my lawyer to tell me this to say this, but you know I’m going to act on her words… We won’t be shaken down. And believe me it’s bothering me not to talk about the skit ‘cause Andy and I have been talking about it and there’s some very valid things I feel like I have to say or want to say, but just can’t at this time.”

The actor/writer continued,

“I’m no coward. I’m not running from anything and I’m not guilty of anything. It’s the reason why I won’t turn my mentions off on my Instagram. It’s the reason why I’m not deleting any of my old posts.”

Spears added,

“It’s paining me to do so cause I’m a fighter not a runner. My character’s being assassinated. Again, I want to address the skit especially, but I just can’t.”

Spears’ comments come just a couple days after Tiffany Haddish publicly spoke out about the situation online.

On September 5, the “Girls Trip” actress took to social media and shared a statement letting fans know that she regrets taking a part in the questionable sketch video that has landed her in the hot seat. In a post shared across her social media platforms, Haddish said,

“I know people have a bunch of questions. I get it. I’m right there with you. Unfortunately, because there is an ongoing legal case, there’s very little that I can say right now. But, clearly, while this sketch was intended to be
comedic, it wasn’t funny at all – and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it. I really look forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as I can.”
