Lil Keed’s Mother Announces New Single & Posthumous Album From Late Rapper
Lil Keed’s mother has announced that a new single and posthumous album from the late rapper is coming out soon.
On Monday (Jan. 30), Lil Keed‘s mother, Tonnie Woods-Reed, took to her son’s Instagram with a message informing fans of plans to share the late rapper’s unreleased music. A new single called “Long Way to Go” will be released this Friday, February 3. The new song will be a preview to Keed’s upcoming posthumous album Keed Talk To ‘Em 2, which he started recording prior to his death last May.
Tonnie Woods-Reed wrote,
“On May 13, 2022 I lost my son Raqhid Render – who many of you knew as the artist Lil Keed. While this journey through the different phases of grief has been indescribably hard, a way that I have found to cope is through his music.”
She continued,
“Right before his passing, Keed was hard at work at what would’ve been his highly anticipated next album Keed Talk To ‘Em 2. As much as he was a great father, son, and friend – he was also an artist who (thanks to many of you) lived and continues to live through his music.”

She concluded,
“With that being said, the time has come to share some of our last pieces of Keed with you all starting with the release of his first single ‘Long Way To Go’ this Friday. This song holds a special place in my heart and as you guys will see it will reflect on many aspects of Keed’s journey here on Earth. I hope you all appreciate it as we take the first step in cementing Keed’s legacy. Long Live Keed!”
As previously reported, Lil Keed (born Raqhid Jevon Render) – who was affiliated with Young Thug‘s YSL Records — died on May 13, 2022, at the age of 24 just hours after he entered Burbank hospital while dealing with stomach and back pain.

According to the autopsy report, the coroner said it’s unclear what caused the condition. Per the coroner’s report,
“He had been sick in bed for 4 days with complaints of stomach and back pains. His brother noted that the decedent’s eyes were jaundiced and drove him to the hospital in a private vehicle.”
Lil Keed reportedly suffered a seizure as he was en route to receiving medical treatment “before going unresponsive.” He later died at the hospital at 10:14 p.m. that same day.
