Charlamagne Talks Wendy Williams Fall-Out In Memoir
Charlamagne Tha God is finally ready to reveal why he and Wendy Williams fell-out, close to nine years ago. In his new memoir, Black Privilege, the outspoken radio and TV personality explains what ended their friendship.
For years, Charlamagne has maintained that Wendy was instrumental in his career and was a mentor to him while he was a co-host on her popular radio show. In his book, he alleges that what ended their working friendship was a business deal, that he was attempting to do with Wendy’s husband Kevin Hunter. He details that after being fired from her radio show (not by Wendy but because of politics), Kevin agreed to rep him in negotiations for a new job in Philadelphia. Charlamagne says that he was initially offered 70k. However, Kevin aggressively insisted that the new employer pay him 350k. He writes,
He added,
Charlamagne says that when told Kevin that he would accept 75k and not the amount that he suggested, he (Kevin) was livid. In fact, he says he received a text from Wendy’s husband stating,
Charlamagne says that after that, his relationship with Wendy was officially over.
Charlamagne also reveals that he didn’t necessarily agree with how Kevin and Wendy treated the people that worked for them.
