Rae Sremmurd’s Step Dad Fatally Shot, Rappers’ Little Brother In Custody As A Person Of Interest
The stepfather of rap duo Rae Sremmurd (Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee) has reportedly been shot and killed.
According to new reports, Tuesday (Jan. 7), Floyd Sullivan, was fatally shot after a shooting in Mississippi. Police in Tupelo, Mississippi were called to the scene Monday (Jan. 6). When officers arrived, the stepfather had already died from multiple gunshot wounds. Police are reportedly holding Slim Jximmi and Swae Lee’s younger brother Michael Brown, 19, for psychiatric evaluation. He’s said to be the only person of interest in the tragedy.
Floyd Sullivan has been in the rappers’ lives since they were in middle school. He’s married to their mother, Bernadette, and the two have son Floyd, Jr. together.
Rae Sremmurd hasn’t spoken out publicly about the loss, but both Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee posted cryptic messages on Instagram.
Swae Lee shared a photo with a broken heart Emoji.

Slim Jxmmi also wrote:
“I’ll never sell my soul or turn on my back on my fam. I don’t got friends, just family x associates”
