Drake Pulls Release Of New Single With French Montana Amid Astroworld Lawsuit

Drake Pulls Release Of New Single With French Montana Amid Astroworld Lawsuit
Drake has pulled his upcoming collaboration with rap comrade French Montana.
The Toronto native was slated to be featured on French Montana’s newest album They Got Amnesia, which is expected to be released Friday (November 19th). Although fans have been eagerly anticipating their song titled “Splash Brothers,” they might have to wait until the dust settles from the Astroworld Festival fiasco.
It hasn’t even been a month since tragedy struck Travis Scott’s annual Astroworld Festival in Houston. Ten concertgoers, including a 9-year-old boy, have died from the injuries they sustained at the event. Several more were injured. The lawsuits against Travis Scott are mounting, but he is not alone. Live Nation Entertainment and Drake, who performed at the concert, are also included in a $750 million lawsuit.

Drake expressed his sorrow following the festival via Instagram:
“I’ve spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy. I hate resorting to this platform to express an emotion as delicate as grief but this is where I find myself.”
The post continued:
“My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering. I will continue to pray for all of them, and will be of service in any way I can. May God be with you all.”

Out of respect for the catastrophe, Drake has held off on releasing any new music. His single with French Montana has been pulled from streaming platforms and might not make an appearance until the deluxe version of “They Got Amnesia” is released.
