NBA Star Anthony Edwards’ Ex Hopes Custody Deal Will Push Him To Meet Their Son + Asks Court To Increase $5K Child Support
NBA star Anthony Edwards’ ex, Ally D, is hoping that ending their legal battle will finally encourage the hooper to build a relationship with their 1-year-old son.
Ally D — real name Alexandria Desroches — recently spoke with In Touch alongside her legal team about her efforts to settle a custody and child support dispute with the 23-year-old NBA player.
_____________
According to Ally, she met Edwards in 2020 and has had a decent relationship with his family ever since. Although the two were never officially exclusive, they welcomed a son, Amir, in 2023.
_____________
Edwards initially filed for joint legal and physical custody in January 2024 and asked the court to determine a formal child support amount. At the time, Ally says things were cordial, even though Edwards reportedly told her “don’t be messy” when she revealed her pregnancy.

His paternity suit was dismissed after he allegedly failed to serve her with the legal documents. By March 2024, Ally notes that their dynamic shifted, blaming the change on Edwards’ new legal team.
She claims that when Edwards refiled the case, he made no mention of custody or visitation. Instead, he only asked the court to set a formal support amount. While she admits he voluntarily sent $20K in November 2023 for childcare, then more (lower) payments in some months that followed, she says the amount eventually dropped to $5K by April 2025.
_____________
Her lawyer argues that $5K per month is not enough to cover the child’s expenses, and plans to move the case to New York (where Ally lives) instead of Georgia (where Edwards originally filed).
_____________
Ally’s legal team also accuses Edwards of making promises and not following through, abusing his position as the financial provider.
Still, Ally insists she doesn’t want to live off his money, just wants a fair agreement in the hope that he’ll want to be in their son’s life.
What do y’all think? Is Edwards trying to do the right thing — or is Ally being too patient? ?
