Dr.Dre Could Lose Millions If The Super Bowl Halftime Performance Is Cancelled Due To COVID
The coronavirus pandemic might be the reason Dr.Dre loses millions of dollars.
The Super Bowl is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 13. In addition to the exciting football game, many people will tune in to see their favs perform for the halftime show. As previously reported, this year’s show will feature many stars, including Eminem, 49, Snoop Dogg, 50, Kendrick Lamar, 34, and Mary J. Blige, 50. Reportedly, Dr.Dre, 56, is a huge financial backbone for the event and has given millions of dollars to make sure everything with the show goes as planned.

According to reports, the businessman is making sure he protects his investment and has secured Event Cancellation Insurance just in case something causes the annual halftime show to go astray. The only problem is that the insurance policy reportedly doesn’t cover COVID. The exclusion, which has been around for years, is called a Communicable Disease Exemption, and COVID falls under this clause. This means that if the Super Bowl halftime is canceled due to a COVID-related reason, the insurance policy will not cover Dr.Dre’s losses.
It’s unclear if the NFL has any plans to ax the halftime show as a COVID precaution or not. However, just like last year, the professional football organization will more than likely find a way for the show to go on amid the ongoing rise of COVID cases.
If the halftime show is kicked to the side this year, Dr.Dre, who has an estimated net worth between 800 million and one billion dollars, seemingly won’t be hurt too bad by the lost investment.
