Chris Brown Defends Kyrie Irving Amidst Controversy Over His Vaccination Status: It’s His Choice & A D*** Good One
Singer Chris Brown is defending NBA star Kyrie Irving and his decision to remain unvaccinated. Chris Brown took to his Instagram story showing the basketball player support and calling him his brother.
Brown wrote,
“The real hero, I stand with my brother. Whoever don’t like it…go live your d*** life.”
He added,
“It’s his choice and a d*** good one. Always in my brother’s corner.”
As previously reported, the NBA announced that unvaccinated players would not be paid for missing games. The new rule directly impacted Kyrie Irving, who has elected not to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Irving later suggested that he was ‘promised’ that he would be excused from getting the vaccine and thought he would be able to play. He said,
“What would you do if you felt uncomfortable going into the season when you were promised that you have exemptions or that you didn’t have to be forced to get the vaccine? This wasn’t an issue before the season started. This wasn’t something that I foresaw coming where I prepared for it and had a chance to strategize on what was going to be best for me and my family. I came into the season thinking that I was just gonna be able to play ball.”

Many have disagreed with Irving’s decision, including former NBA legends like Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, and Magic Johnson.
In a recent interview Karl-Anthony Towns, who loss his mother and seven other family members to COVID-19, also spoke on the situation saying,
“I’m obviously a strong believer in the vaccine. I’ve been through so much and it would be kind of contradictory to not be on the pro-vaccine side. But what I will say is that I believe in choice and I like to give people their choice and I have no problem with people having their choice.”
